I have to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter of the 10 instant transmitting, for any
observations the Crown Agents may
have to offer on a
copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong on the subject of remittances from that Colony.
2. In that despatch the
Governor states that he is at a loss
to comprehend in what manner he could have fully complied with the Secretary of State's instructions to him to keep the Crown Agents supplied with sufficient funds; that Bills are just as available as Cash; and that he cannot admit the propriety of the Agents speaking
